Hang on, Inhumans hasn’t been cancelled just yet

Despite its terrible reception from both critics and fans, Marvel’s Inhumans is apparently still an ongoing series, according to ABC.

The show was billed as a ‘limited series’, which tends to be a way for networks to claim a single season run as intentional rather than a result of cancellation by the network. That seemed to be the case with Inhumans, but ABC boss Channing Dungey told Entertainment Weekly:

“It didn’t perform for us at the level that we would’ve wanted. We haven’t made any official decision yet about what we’re going to pick up in May, but I will say that the numbers, unfortunately, were less exciting for us than we hoped they would be.”

So don’t get too excited, as its also possible that the Disney aquisition of FOX TV has just delayed any big decisions for the time being. The characters, of course, are Marvel’s idea of replacing the X-Men in times when it doesn’t hold the rights, and that’s no longer the case. FOX can now do what it wants with Wolverine, Xavier etc., reducing the need for the Inhumans in the first place.

More news as we get it.
