Heading to BBC shortly is Russell T Davies’ eagerly-awaited new drama, A Very British Scandal.

UPDATE: We now have a start date for it. The drama will premiere on BBC One on Sunday May 20th, at 9pm.

It’s a three parter, that stars Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw in the lead roles.

The first trailer for the programme has now been released by the BBC, and this is a taste as to what’s in store…

The official synopsis reads as follows…

A Very English Scandal is the story of an illegal love affair that threatened the life of one man and the entire British establishment. Directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena) and written by Russell T Davies, this brand new three-part series is a darkly comic adaptation of true events.
