Arrow: John Barrowman will return this year

Posted Filed under

John Barrowman, before heading into the jungle, confirmed that he will be returning to The CW’s Arrow series later this year. How does that fit with Malcolm Merlyn being dead?

Speaking to Digital Spy, the Dark Archer actor confirmed that his days on the DC Comics show are far from finished.

“I can’t tease anything about it, but I will be returning to the show this year,” Barrowman explained. “I just filmed some stuff for it recently. If you follow my Instagram and social media, you might’ve seen something a couple of weeks back.”

If you know what social media post Barrowman was referring to there, do let us know. We had a quick look and found this image of him and Arrow star Stephen Amell together in July, but nothing more concrete than that:

Barrowman also mentioned that, before he went into the jungle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The CW checked in on him again.

“Also, just before I went into isolation, they checked my availability again,” he revealed. “We were like, ‘You guys knew the schedule. I’m not available right now, so it’ll have to be after the new year’.”

As we hear more about Barrowman’s return to the Arrowverse, we’ll be sure to let you know. We’ve been led to believe that Earth-One’s Malcolm is dead, so could this return have something to do with next month’s universe-hopping Elseworlds crossover? As always, we’ll just have to wait and watch to find out.
