Avengers: Infinity War – American release date moves forward

Posted Filed under

Avengers: Infinity War has moved forward its American release date, bringing the film’s stateside release into line with its worldwide dates. Prior to this change, Britain and numerous other territories were due to get Infinity War a few days earlier than American cinemagoers: the UK release date was April 27th, and the US one was May 4th.

But now, the Avengers: Infinity War American release date has been brought forward onto April 27th, allowing film fans in the USA to experience this epic crossover movie on the same day as everyone else. The exact reason for this change hasn’t been formally announced, but the date update was unveiled on Twitter in a jokey bit of back-and-forth banter between Robert Downey Jnr and the official Marvel Studios account.

Avengers: Infinity War will see Robert Downey Jnr’s Iron Man teaming up with Chris Evans’ Captain America, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany’s Vision, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man, Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange and the core Guardians Of The Galaxy crew in order to tackle the massive threat presented by Josh Brolin’s Thanos, the Infinity-Stone-collecting Mad Titan who has had it in for Earth since the post-credits scene of 2012’s The Avengers.

The UK release date for Avengers: Infinity War remains on April 27th.
