“Bedlam, being a ghost series, required us to take decisions on style and the use of effects and we resolved that we would resort to CGI as little as we could”, Bird explained to Sky Press Office. “Wherever possible we shot things for real and used CGI to enhance what we had achieved in camera. Only the viewers will be able to judge if we have achieved the right ‘fright factor’ but I feel confident that our aesthetic is unlike anything else on British TV.”
Bedlam is set around a newly converted apartment, which turns out to be a haunted former pre-Victorian asylum. The six-part series begins on Monday 7th February.
