A brand new drama series has been ordered by ITV, from the director of the hit movie Bend It Like Beckham.
Gurinder Chadha will be overseeing a show called Beecham House, that’s set in 19th century Delhi. The drama will focus on the residents of the house in question, a mansion in the midst of impressive grounds. The house is owned by John Beecham, a former soldier looking to set up a new life for his family, and a new business for himself.
Six episodes have been ordered of the show, with the scripts being written by Chadha, Victor Levin, Paul Mayeda Berges and Shahrukh Husain. Filming will take place in India this year, with the idea being to get the show on screens in 2019.
No firm casting has thus far been announced, but we’ll keep you posted as we hear more.
