What better time to start thinking about Christmas than, er, at the start of November? Still, with the first Yuletide movie in cinemas, Channel 4 has become the first to announce the highlights of its Christmas schedules this year. Some of the entries are more predictable than others….

It’s been known for a while that The Great British Bake Off will be getting a Christmas special. Turns out it’s getting two, with returning contestants from the most recent series, and the quartet of judges/hosts/cake eaters.

A triple dose of Carr on Four at Christmas. He’s hosting a revival of The Price Is Right (just a pilot episode so far, though), a Chatty Man Christmas Special, and Alan Carr’s New Year’s Eve Spectacular.

The Crystal Maze

Richard Ayoade is hosting a celebrity special of The Crystal Maze, with a Yuletide theme. Said celebrities have not yet been announced, though.

Big Fat Quiz

The Big Fat Quiz Of Everything will be hosted again by Jimmy Carr. Again, no contestants have thus far been confirmed.
