Deadpool and Deadpool 2 actress Brianna Hildebrand, who plays Negasonic Teenage Warhead in the potty-mouthed Fox franchise, has nabbed a starring role in a new Young Adult series for Netflix.
Hildebrand will star in Netflix’s adaptation of Trinkets, a novel by Kirsten ‘Kiwi’ Smith. She’ll play Elodie, a young shoplifter that meets some like-minded individuals at a mandated meeting and forges new friendships in the process.
Linda Gase is set to serve as showrunner, overseeing the production of ten 30-minute episodes. Smith, author of the book, is among the show’s executive producers.
Joining Hildebrand in the core cast are Kiana Madeira (The Flash) as Moe and newcomer Quintessa Swindell as Tabitha. Odiseas Georgiadis, Henry Zaga, Brandon Butler, Larry Sullivan, October Moore and Larisa Oleynik also have roles.
From the official Netflix press bumf, we’ve also clapped eyes on this synopsis:
“When three teenage girls from different corners of the high school cafeteria find themselves in the same mandated Shoplifter’s Anonymous meeting, an unlikely friendship forms. Elodie — the grieving misfit, Moe — the mysterious outsider, and Tabitha — the imperfect picture of perfection, will find strength in each other as they negotiate family issues, high school drama and the complicated dilemma of trying to fit in while longing to break out.”
Netflix hasn’t announced a release date for the drama just yet, but we’ll be sure to let you know as more news comes to light.
