As the mantle passes from one Doctor to another this Christmas, outgoing Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi has promised to follow a tradition set by his predecessors.
Chatting to the Daily Star, Capaldi revealed that previous actors in the role of the Doctor, specifically David Tennant and Matt Smith, were helpful to him in dealing with the “unique stress” that comes with playing the role.
“David Tennant and Matt Smith have been fabulous to me, because some days things can become overpowering and who can I talk to, and those guys do talk to me”.
As such, he’s paying things forward, and has offered to help the incoming Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, by being there to “talk her through the madness”.
Capaldi departs, and Whittaker arrives, in Twice Upon A Time, which screens on Christmas day.
