Doctor Who series 11 team heading to San Diego Comic-Con – Chris Hardwick dropped from panel

UPDATE: Following allegations of sexual and emotional abuse regarding Chris Hardwick, he will no longer be hosting the Doctor Who panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Hardwick denies the allegations that were put forward by Chloe Dykstra, in a piece over at Medium here.  Hardwick was also set to moderate panels for AMC at the event, but has dropped out of those too.

Doctor Who series 11 will make an appearance at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, one of the largest geeky events on the planet, which will take place over in the States between July 19th and 22nd 2018.

Chris Hardwick will (not now) lead a panel consisting of showrunner Chris Chibnall, executive producer Matt Strevens, star Jodie Whittaker, and two of her Doctor’s companions (Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill, who play Ryan and Yasmin in the upcoming series).

This will be one of the first times we see the new Team TARDIS stepping out in public together. Whittaker and Chibnall took over at the helm following Peter Capaldi and Steven Moffat’s departure at the end of Doctor Who series 10, and we’re yet to see a proper trailer for Doctor Who series 11.

Perhaps the first Doctor Who series 11 trailer will be unleashed during that San Diego Comic-Con panel, with the fans in the hall getting a first look at it before the people at home.

Doctor Who series 11 is expected to debut on our screens around about October 2018. Whatever does happen at that SDCC panel, we’ll be sure to let you know.
