Ed Sheeran is apparently in talks to appear in a new musical comedy movie, from British cinema legends Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis.
Curtis (the scribe behind Love Actually, Four Weddings And A Funeral, About Time and The Boat That Rocked) has written a new comedy film – apparently themed around music – for Danny Boyle (director of Trainspotting, Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later and 127 Hours) to shoot. The cast so far includes Cinderella star Lily James and EastEnders regular Himesh Patel, with Ghostbusters standout Kate McKinnon reportedly in talks to join them.
According to Deadline, Mr Sheeran is “in talks to make an appearance” in the movie. Sheeran has been seen on screen plenty of times before, with appearances in Game Of Thrones, The Bastard Executioner, Home And Away and Bridget Jones’ Baby (the latter of which gave a ‘special thanks’ credit to Curtis, who wrote the previous two Bridget Jones films).
It’s unclear how big a role Sheeran will have in Curtis and Boyle’s as-yet-untitled comedy movie with musical themes. We don’t know if he will cameo, play a fully-fledged character and/or contribute songs to the soundtrack. As it stands, the movie – and its plot – remain firmly under wraps.
As we hear more about this intriguing project, we’ll be sure to let you know.
