Everyone is getting excited for the release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, now more details surrounding the movie are being revealed.

First J.K. Rowling, creator and screenplay writer confirmed there will be five films instead of three. After that, Ezra Miller, Fantastic Beasts co-star, commented in greater detail on the movie’s connection to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. By doing so, he confirmed what many already had suspected: eventually, the focus of the film will be the Dark Wizard Grindelwald’s rise to power.

According to Empire Magazine, director David Yates says that the second film will cross the ocean, where Paris will be its next location. In Fantastic Beasts Grindelwald started his rise to power, while situated in New York, in 1926. Untill now, France hasn’t been mentioned often within the Wizarding World. However, from the Harry Potter series we know that Grindelwald ruled terror across many parts of Europe. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire he attended Durmstrang school as one of the richest wizzards, not by playing the lotto but because of the inheritance he gained from Sirius Black. He also lived shortly in Godric’s Hollow with a relative, Bathilda Bagshot, who probably will not be unknown to Harry Potter fans.

For many of us Paris doesn’t seem to fit in anyone’s guess, so the outcome of the sequel might surprise us all. Generally spoken, since there are many doubtful details to discuss. Will Eddie Redmayne for example be reprising his role of Newt Scamander? Who knows. For what we know, Rowling’s creative mind will connect it all up in ways we can’t even imagine.
