The hit daytime TV show Father Brown has been greenlit again by the BBC.
Series seven of the show, that’s based on the writing of G K Chesterton, has been given the go ahead, with Mark Williams set to reprise the title role. He’s joined in the cast by Sorcha Cusack, Jack Deam and Emer Kenny.
It’s the BBC’s most popular daytime drama, following a priest solving crimes in the 1950s. The new series will film later this year, and will debut on BBC One in early 2019. No further details of the new run have thus far been released.
The latest series of Father Brown averaged viewing figures of 2.3 million, incidentally, and has been sold to over 150 countries.
