The cast is led by Pop Idol star Gareth Gates as Willard, who went on to sell over 5 million records worldwide following the 2001 TV series.

Vi Moore is played by Maureen Nolan, whose theatre credits include the West End and touring productions of Blood Brothers.

Footloose: The Musical first opened on Broadway in 1998, where it ran for 709 performances. The London production followed in 2006.
