Agyeman, who appeared as companion Martha Jones alongside David Tennant in Doctor Who between 2007-2010, will play Carrie’s mentor, Larissa in the new CW show. Deadline describes the character as “a hip, cutting-edge editor/party girl who works at Interview magazine”.

Based on Candace Bushnell’s novel, The Carrie Diaries is set in the 1980s and will chronicle Carrie Bradshaw’s (AnnaSophia Robb) coming of age.
