Game Of Thrones season 8: actor issues word of caution on its ending

Don’t worry, no spoilers here.

Filming is set to begin soon for the final season of Game Of Thrones, that’s going to land on our screens next year. Season eight will be a shortened run, albeit with longer episodes, and HBO is already planning a bunch of spin-offs to fill the void once the show is done.

The ending is being kept heavily under wraps, as you might expect. However, one person who has read the script for the last episode is Iain Glen. Chatting to Indian Express, Glen – who plays Ser Jorah Mormont in the show – said that “I can’t tell, but I am one of the few people who has read the script and I know the ending and what happens”.

So then: any good?

“When I read it, I thought it was rather brilliant. I am a bit of a fan of the series as well, and it satiated my expectation and hopes. I felt [it was the] conclusion”, he said.

“But we will have to see. You know with something this big like Game Of Thrones, you cannot please everyone. All I can say is that we will be doing what we have done before, and the writers have written great episodes”.

No start date has been announced for the final series. There’s a very likely chance you’ll know about it well in advance of it landing on your screens though. We do not anticipate HBO being shy about this one…
