Starring Russell Tovey (Being Human) and Sarah Solemani as the anti-romantic couple, Steve and Becky, Him & Her will be back for six new 30-minute episodes.
Speaking exclusively to CultBox earlier this month, Tovey told us: “There’s so much scope for more storylines to keep telling their story, even though we never leave the flat. The series ends on a big dramatic twist to a new event that can definitely be a catalyst for the third series.”
BBC Three controller Zai Bennett has also recommissioned new sitcom Pramface before Series 1 has even aired. Written by Chris Reddy, the show follows couple Laura (Scarlett Alice Johnson) and Jamie (Sean Verey) as they “continue their tentative and unexpected journey into parenthood following a brief, drunken hook-up”.
Other new BBC Three comedy commissions include: Bad Education, written by and starring Fresh Meat‘s Jack Whitehall as “the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system”; The Revolution Will Be Televised, described as “Newsnight meets Trigger Happy TV“; and Some Girls, “a comedy about the kind of girls more usually seen in worrying documentaries about inner city teens”.
Series 2 of Him & Her is currently airing at 10.30pm on Tuesday nights on BBC Three.
