Claire Danes has reiterated the assertion that Homeland season 8 will be the final run of Showtime’s CIA drama.
Earlier this year, showrunner Alex Gansa told THR that season 8 will definitely be his last season in charge and this it is “designed to be the end of an eight-season story.”
In a new interview with Howard Stern on Sirius XM, Dane has made it clear that Homeland season 8 is definitely the end. Asked if season 8 is the last season of Homeland, Danes said this: “Yeah, that’s it.”
Danes admitted that does feel “conflicted” about wrapping things up after years of work on the show, before choosing to focus on the positive side of the gig coming to an end.
“I mean, I’ll be ready”, Danes revealed. “She’s a lot, this Carrie-freakin’ Mathison character. It’s a workout, so I’ll be ready for a reprieve from that.”
Season 7 of Homeland has nearly finished its run on Showtime in the USA and Channel 4 in the UK. After that, all we’ll have left is Homeland season 8, which we would expect to debut around October time and consist of the usual 12 episodes.
We’ll bring you more Homeland season 8 news as and when we hear it.
