Alan Davies has confirmed that Jonathan Creek will be back for a one-off special.
The actor and QI panelist told DS: “We’re doing it in the summer – we’re shooting a 90-minute one-off.”
He added: “It’s 20 years since the first series. 20 years! It’s unbelievable. I’ll try and drop a few pounds so I’m not fat Creek.”

A three-part fifth season of the crime comedy-drama aired on BBC One two years ago, featuring Sarah Alexander as Creek’s wife, Polly.
Jonathan Creek launched in May 1997 and 31 episodes have aired so far.
Davies commented: “[The show’s longevity is] a tribute to [series creator and writer] David Renwick. He obeys all the classic rules of classic television and employs them to his benefit – so the show is perfect television.”

Original co-star Caroline Quentin revealed in 2014 that she is keen to return as crime writer Maddy Magellan: “I would love to go back and do it.”
