Asked if she’d be interested in reuniting with her former co-stars, Gillan told CultBox: “I would love to work with those guys on something else. It would just be really weird and I wonder if we’d suddenly just get into our Doctor Who characters subconsciously and start speaking at a really fast pace and sounding a bit worried. That would be really interesting.”

She added: “I do know that Matt has always talked about playing Macbeth and I’ve always had an obsession with Lady Macbeth – so maybe one day!”

Gillan is currently filming Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which will be released in UK cinemas in August 2014.
