Legends Of Tomorrow season 3: exec producer addresses finale exits

This article contains spoilers for the Legends Of Tomorrow season 3 finale.

Marc Guggenheim, one of the executive producers on Legends Of Tomorrow, has spoken about the crew members who appeared to leave the Legends in the show’s season 3 finale.

Arthur Darvill’s Rip Hunter is one such character. His fate was left mysterious at the end of the Legends Of Tomorrow season 3 finale.

Rip, of course, is the coat-wearing Waverider owner who initially recruited the Legends to help with his battle against Casper Crump’s Vandal Savage. But after that mission was done, Rip handed the Waverider captaincy to Caity Lotz’s Sara Lance. Since then, he has flitted between friend and foe, filling any role that the show needs him to fill.

Most recently, in the Legends Of Tomorrow season 3 finale, Rip appeared to make a heroic sacrifice to buy the Legends more time to save the day. But according to Guggenheim, that may not be the end for Rip. Here’s what the exec has said in a new interview:

“We love Arthur, we love having Arthur on the show, and I think Arthur enjoys being on the show […] Because it’s a time travel show, and because we never saw a body, anything is possible. I think Arthur is totally willing to come back and play with us if we have a cool idea.”

Similarly, Guggenheim stressed that we haven’t seen the last of Maisie Richardson-Seller’s Amaya/Vixen, who he says “will absolutely be back”. Amaya also appeared to leave the Legends in the season 3 finale, returning to her original point in the timeline. Guggenheim assured fans that Amaya will return with a “different storyline” next year.
