It’s been revealed that Legion season 3 will grace our screens next year, with the news being confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend.
Legion was officially renewed for its third season last month, but we didn’t know exactly when to expect the series’ return. But now, thanks to comments and social media posts that emanated from SDCC 2018, it’s 100% confirmed that Dan Stevens’ David Haller will be back in action in 2019.
It’s nice to know that the show is still pressing ahead, considering that the Disney takeover of Fox seems to be going through. There’s no guarantee that all of Fox’s projects will continue once that deal is fully finalised, but we’re very happy that Legion is getting a third bite of its mind-bending cherry.
Speaking at the show’s SDCC panel, Rachel Keller teased that Syd will have a more central heroic role in Legion season 3:
“It was hard to balance future and present Syd [in season 2] because I was so invested was happening with present Syd. But I am so excited to see where we go from here with Syd the hero of season three. […] The most important thing is how Syd will react if he plans don’t go as planned as a hero. When what she loves and wants do not necessarily coincide. How she reacts will show who she is as a hero”
That certainly sounds like a sizeable storyline for Syd, and we’re sure that showrunner Noah Hawley will deliver it in style.
We’ll bring you more Legion season 3 news as we hear it.
