Lucifer renewed for season 5, which will end the show for good

Lucifer has already dodged death once, with the Tom-Ellis-starring show Satanically segueing onto Netflix after being cancelled at Fox. But now, the show will end for good, with Netflix announcing its plans for a fifth and final season…

Fox cancelled Lucifer after three seasons, before Netflix picked up the rights to produce season 4, which is available to watch now. But if you were hoping that Netflix would keep making new Lucifer episodes far into the future, think again.

The iconic streaming service has revealed, through one of its many official Twitter accounts, that the newly-announced Lucifer season 5 will draw the show to a close…

Netflix shared this statement: “We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for.”

And the show’s executive producers, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson, added this: “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms. Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!!”
