A new Luke Cage season 2 trailer has arrived on the web, and it teases the possibility of Mike Colter’s bulletproof superhero getting caught between two warring villains and struggling to keep up.

In one corner, there’s Alfre Woodard’s Mariah Dillard, the returning crime lord who wishes to install herself as Harlem’s queen and monopolise criminal activity in the city. And in the other corner, Mustafa Shakir’s Bushmaster is a new threat, who can take a bullet as easily as Luke. He’ll arrive in Harlem with his own scores to settle, putting him on the radar of both Mariah and Luke.

Although the explosions, bullets and fist fights are exciting, the most intriguing parts of this trailer lie in its quieter moments: at one point, Mariah seems to be suggesting that Luke is doing exactly what she wants by taking down Bushmaster; at another moment, she urges Luke to save her.

To find out how Luke Cage fares against these new challenges, you’ll have to get bingeing later this month. All 13 episodes of Luke Cage season 2 will drop on Netflix on June 22nd.
