ITV has announced the re-commission of Mr Selfridge for a third series.

Inspired by the life of charismatic American entrepreneur, Harry Gordon Selfridge, and his business in London’s Oxford Street, the period drama’s second series is currently airing at 9pm on Sunday nights on ITV, averaging 6.4 million viewers (21.6% share) so far.

Series 2 begins airing in the US on Sunday 30 March on Masterpiece on PBS.

ITV’s Director of Drama Steve November commented: “We’re delighted to commission a third series of Mr Selfridge. It’s been very pleasing to see how the audience have reacted to Mr Selfridge and the vibrant and inspirational world the production team have created.”

Series 3 will begin filming in April on location in Greater London.
