Fans of The Night Manager might be pleased with this one. For whilst the BBC continues to develop a follow-up to that show, it’s pressed ahead with another new adaptation of a John Le Carre novel.
The Little Drummer Girl has begun filming this week, under the eye of Oldboy and Okja director Park Chan-wook. He’s going to be shooting the series in the UK and elsewhere in Europe, in a production co-funded by the BBC and AMC.
Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Shannon headline the cast for this one, with the drama set in Greece in the 1970s. Expect espionage, intelligence offers and danger.
Six hour-long episodes are being made, and there’s a sporting chance we might get to see them before the end of the year.
