Channel 4’s crime procedural No Offence will return for an extra-topical third series exploring Far Right extremism in the UK.
The BAFTA nominated drama has been recommissioned by Channel 4, and looks set to up the stakes for the Manchester police force in Friday Street.
Beth Willis, head of drama at Channel 4, said: “They’re back! I’m counting the days until this joy of a show is back on Channel 4. I cannot wait to see what Paul and his crack team of writers put DI Deering and Friday Street cops through next.”
The third series will see the team investigate the attempted assassination of a local politician by a new Far Right group, which is subsequently used as a tool by the government. Viv and the rest of Friday Street find themselves trapped in a political chess game while also tackling an increasingly xenophobic community.
“It’s a privilege to dive back into the very British chaos of Inspector Viv Deering and her No Offence police family,” added Paul Abbott, creator and writer. “I think we’ve struck a great deal with the audience. They expect nothing but the titled best and we’re truly honoured to serve.
“Chucking wicked humour at grim reality is a great cocktail for digesting the real world and pretending to make sense of it. Sleeves up! We’re off again.”
