An exclusive big-screen theatre event will mark 20 years of the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler in celebration of Doctor Who Day.

For the first time ever in cinemas, the two-part adventure The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit have been specially re-edited into a single movie-length presentation exclusively for theatrical audiences.

In this story written by Matt Jones and directed by James Strong, the Doctor (David Tennant) and Rose (Billie Piper) travel to Sanctuary Base 6, a remote outpost perched on a planet orbiting a black hole. When an ancient force awakens beneath the surface, the crew find themselves trapped in a battle against an evil older than time itself.

Additional cast are Danny Webb, Shaun Parkes, Claire Rushbrook, Will Thorp, Ronny Jhutti and Paul Kasey.

The 1-hour and 48-minute screening also includes exclusive bonus material, featuring previously unseen content and a new interview with a special guest, reflecting on the making of one of the most celebrated stories of the modern era – from encounters with the Ood to facing the terrifying Beast, alongside behind-the-scenes memories from the set.

The Doctor Who Day screening of The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit will take place on 23 November 2026 in select theatres in the UK.
