Three new cast members for the second series of Peaky Blinders have been revealed.

Noah Taylor (Submarine) joins the cast of BBC Two’s gangster drama as the head of an organisation that stands in the way of the Peaky Blinders’ plans for expansion.

Charlotte Riley (World Without End) will play an aristocrat who crosses paths with Tommy Shelby as he moves into a more exclusive world.

Newcomer Harry Kirton, who was discovered at an open casting call in Birmingham earlier this year, will play Finn, the youngest Shelby sibling.

Series 1 stars Paul Anderson, Joe Cole and Sophie Rundle are also now confirmed to return as Arthur Shelby, John Shelby and Ada Shelby respectively.

It was announced last month that The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy will play “a charismatic leader who presents a unique opportunity to Tommy” in Series 2.

Directed by Colm McCarthy (Sherlock, Doctor Who), six new episodes are currently filming and will air on BBC Two this autumn.

Set in the lawless streets of post-war Birmingham on the cusp of the 1920s, Series 1 achieved a consolidated average audience of 2.4 million viewers (9.6%) and concluded on BBC Two last October.
