Peter Capaldi is working with Armando Iannucci again for first post-Doctor Who role

For his first major post-Doctor Who role, Peter Capaldi is joining forces once more with an old colleague.

Capaldi is to join the cast of David Copperfield, the new film from Armando Iannucci. Iannucci, of course, being one of the brains behind The Thick Of It, and its associated movie, In The Loop. Capaldi playing Malcolm Tucker in those, of course.

Iannucci teased the new collaboration via his Twitter account, ahead of the formal announcement…

 

The film goes by the name of The Personal History Of David Copperfield, and Capaldi will be playing Mr Micawber in the movie. Filming is due to start later this year. Tilda Swinton and Hugh Laurie are already on board.
