Written and directed by Nick Willin, the mini-series is a prequel to J.M. Barrie’s classic Peter Pan, exploring the mystical beginning of Neverland and the history of the book’s classic characters, including The Lost Boys, Captain Hook and The Indians.
Notting Hill star Rhys Ifans plays James Hook, Anna Friel (Pushing Daisies) plays Captain Elizabeth Bonny and Bob Hoskins reprises his role from Steven Spielberg’s 1991 film Hook as Mr Smee. The cast also includes Raoul Trujillo (Tin Man) as the Holy Man, Charles Dance (Last Action Hero) as Dr Richard Fludd and Charlie Rowe (Never Let Me Go) as Peter Pan, with Pirates Of The Caribbean star Keira Knightly providing the voice of Tinkerbell.
Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Movies, commented: “The legend of Peter Pan spans generations, and never fails to delight and entertain. Despite many different interpretations, there’s never been a movie of how it all could have come to be – this is that story. Neverland is a fantastic coup for us and a landmark event for Sky Movies.”
