Filming has started in south London on the third series of BBC Three’s comedy Some Girls.
The six new 30-minute episodes follow the lives and loves of Viva (Adelayo Adedayo), Holli (Natasha Jonas), Amber (Alice Felgate) and Saz (Mandeep Dhillon) as the end of the term is in sight and they continue their painful and hilarious journey through both home and sixth form life at Greenshoots Academy.
Highlights will include their first music festival, romantic entanglements, the school prom and the prospect that their school may be chosen to feature in a television documentary.

Written by Bernadette Davis, Series 3 also sees the return of Colin Salmon (Arrow) as Viva’s fireman dad Rob, Dolly Wells (Doll & Em) as the tactless Anna, Jassa Ahluwalia (Ripper Street) as Viva’s devoted boyfriend Rocky and Nick Holder (The World’s End) as the girls’ emotionally fragile headmaster Mr Jefferies.
Guests will include Jocelyn Jee Essien (Anuvahood) and Gary Damer (Fresh Meat).
Executive producer Gregor Sharp commented: “Like all fans of Some Girls we’re delighted that Viva, Holli, Saz and Amber are returning to BBC Three and are curious – and a little bit scared – to see what they get up to in the new series.”
Jimmy Mulville, Managing Director, Hat Trick Productions, added: “Some Girls is brilliantly written and beautifully acted comedy. It’s laugh-out-loud, funny and touchingly honest. Bernadette Davis is a writer at the top of her game and I’d be surprised if some of this cast don’t go on to be household names. It’s a gem of a show and Hat Trick is proud to make it.”
