Peter Jackson has reacted to the rumours that he might be involved in Amazon’s in-development TV series based on The Lord Of The Rings, clarifying for his fans that he is not working on the project in any way.
Jackson, who directed all of The Lord Of The Rings movies and The Hobbit trilogy, said the following to Allocine in a new interview with the French publication:
“I’m not involved at all in the Lord Of The Rings series. I understand how my name could come up, but there is nothing happening with me on this project.”
He also stressed that he has no intentions of directing a comic book movie, despite the rumours that linked him to DC Entertainment recently:
“I had no discussions about that. I’m not a fan of comics, I’ve never read any, so I’m not particularly interested in adapting one for cinema. That’s not true at all.”
Putting both sets of rumours well and truly to bed, Jackson added, “I’m not involved in any DC film or Lord of the Rings series but I’m ok with it, I have plenty other projects that keep me busy!”
Indeed, Jackson has plenty on his plate as is. Recently, he’s been working as a producer on Mortal Engines, a huge sci-fi film that just released its first trailer.
As for Amazon’s Lord Of The Rings TV show, the most recent rumours pointed towards young Aragorn being the protagonist. We’ll let you know as we hear more about the show.
