Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them star Eddie Redmayne has revealed he would be up for playing the Doctor in Doctor Who.
Redmayne was discussing the similarities between his new character Newt Scamander and the Doctor with Radio 1 Breakfast host Nick Grimshaw and said that he would love to take over the TARDIS: “Would I do it? Yeah! It’s a great show. I do see the resemblance. I see the scarf, I see the coat, I see the bow tie.”
He added: “I’m also a huge fan of those actors, I love Matt Smith. I suppose the briefcase [in Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them] has a TARDIS vibe to it – so yeah!”
However, fans may have to wait a while. The Theory of Everything actor commented: “It looks like a lot of work. I’ve spoken to Matt [Smith] and those schedules are pretty rigorous. Maybe when I’m 73!”
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them arrives in UK cinemas this Friday.
