The time travel TV series Travelers has been renewed for a third season by its home network, the Canadian TV channel Showcase. On this side of the Atlantic, Travelers is shown on Netflix, where it has become something of a hit with binge-loving sci-fi fans. Netflix also co-produce the show.
Created by Stargate SG-1 alum Brad Wright, Travelers first debuted on Showcase in October 2016, before rolling out around the globe via Netflix a couple of months later. Season 2 followed a year after that, with Will & Grace star Eric McCormack returning to his leading role.
The series, if you’re unfamiliar, is built around the premise that people from the future have travelled into the present – and taken over the bodies of contemporary people – in order to prevent the collapse of society. Season 2 ended in very dramatic fashion, leaving viewers eager for news about season 3.
And now, we have it: the existence of Travelers season 3 has been confirmed. The series will resume production in March, before wrapping in July. We would expect another October launch on Showcase for Canadian viewers, followed by a December drop on Netflix for everyone else.
As we hear more about Travelers season 3, we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.
