The second season of Victoria will begin filming in February 2017.
The period drama series launched on ITV in August and follows Queen Victoria (Jenna Coleman) from her accession to the throne at the tender age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert.
Victoria will premiere in the US at 9pm on Sunday 15 January on PBS, in the slot traditionally taken by Downton Abbey for the past six years.

Discussing the new season, former Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman told Metro: “It’s really exciting. There’s so much story. It’s a case of pacing it and working out where to go with it.”
She added: “There’s no shortage of story. You don’t want to go through it too quickly. There are nine children to have, so there is a long way to go.”
Coleman recently revealed that there are long-term plans for the show’s future, saying: “[Victoria has the potential to go on] for a really long time. Discussions are being had. The problem is there’s almost too much story so it’s about working the pacing. It will be interesting to see how it goes on in the States and what the appetite is.”
The eight-part first season was ITV’s top rated drama of 2016 so far.
