Wizards vs Aliens co-creator Phil Ford discussed the show’s upcoming second series at the weekend.
Series 1 of Wizards Vs Aliens aired on CBBC last autumn and Series 2 is currently filming.
Speaking at the BFI’s screening of Jon Pertwee’s classic Doctor Who story ‘The Mind of Evil’ on Sunday afternoon, attended by CultBox, the writer promised that the new series will be “bigger” than the first run, describing the essence of Wizards vs Aliens as its “sense of fun and sense of heart”.
Ford also appeared to confirm the rumours that co-creator Russell T Davies will be writing his first story for the show, revealing that one of Series 2’s writers will be “a surprise”.

The writer previously teased: “This first season has been very much about setting up the central concept of there being both wizards and aliens. The second season continues that, but takes it off down different avenues … there’s lots of new stuff to learn about the Nekross in Series 2.”
