Filming on season six of Netflix’s House Of Cards came to a very abrupt halt when allegations surfaced about the show’s star, Kevin Spacey. Spacey wasn’t filming at the time, but production on the show was immediately suspended.
Already set to be the final season of House Of Cards, its future was thrown into jeopardy, and it looked at one stage as though Netflix would just cut its losses.
However, now comes the news that production will indeed likely start again on December 8th – and Spacey won’t be involved.
TV Line has got hold of a memo to the cast and crew, a memo that signs off:
“These last two months have tested and tried all of us in ways none of us could have foreseen. The one thing we have learned throughout this process is that this production is bigger than just one person and we could not be more proud to be associated with one of the most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business”.
It’s not 100% definite that December 8th will be the start-up date, but the hope is clearly to get things up and running again, but there seems a clear impetus to keep House Of Cards going.
We’ll keep you posted…
