House of Cards has had quite the tumultuous production for its last season but publicity is now underway for the new Robin Wright-fronted show, with our first look at debuting stars Diane Lane, Greg Kinnear and Cody Fern.
The trio were added earlier this year after Netflix were forced to refocus their plans for the political drama’s concluding run. Serious sexual assault allegations against Kevin Spacey started to come out late last year, which resulted in the actor being dropped from the series and his other projects with Netflix shelved.
Robin Wright will now take the lead as Claire Underwood, who succeeded her husband as President at the end of the latest season, with Frank exiting the picture. Season six will consist of eight episodes and air later this year, on November 2nd.
Now we have our first look and details of the new players who join House of Cards for its latest season. Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear will play ambitious, influential political donors, siblings Annette and Bill Shepherd, and the heads of an industrial firm that holds some sway in the American political landscape. The Shepherds are also said to share some history with the Underwoods.
The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story breakout star Cody Fern, who’s set to take a role in American Horror Story: Apocalypse, will star as Duncan, Annette’s son, and someone at the foreground of modern DC politics.
Netflix have released some pictures of the Shepherds and Claire in her new role as President, which look something like this:
