If you’ve never had the pleasure, then JCVD is a really strong Jean-Claude Van Damme movie, that plays with his real life persona, and wraps it into a film that’s arguably his best in the last decade.
Building on that is the TV show Jean-Claude Van Johnson, in which Van Damme will star as a pretend version of himself, going by the name of Johnson. Johnson is an undercover operative, long out of the game, who finds himself lured back in.
Van Damme headlines the show, opposite Moises Arias, Phylicia Rashad and Kat Foster. The programme has been created by Dave Callaham, and it’s now been picked up for UK transmission. The show will premiere in Britain on Amazon Prime Video, from Friday December 15th.
