Little House on the Prairie has a renewal for season 2 — season 1 has yet to air
Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Little House on the Prairie, based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s enduring, almost 100-year-old book series about growing up in the American West in the 1800s, doesn’t debut until July 9 — and it’s already coming back for more. Little House on the Prairie has a renewal for Season 2 ahead of its debut, and now you can see the first look at the new series (see image above).
What do we know about the Little House on the Prairie renewal
The Netflix press release gives us insight into the portfolio management and desire for multi-series shows:
As a tale of connection and optimism, Little House on the Prairie joins series like Virgin River, Sweet Magnolias, and Ransom Canyon; movies like Ruth & Boaz, The Wrong Paris, and the upcoming Remarkably Bright Creatures; and licensed titles like Gilmore Girls, This Is Us, and Sullivan’s Crossing. These relatable characters and wholesome and heartwarming stories offer viewers a comforting diversion that they can cozy up with and relax.
In other words, expect more not less.
It’s clearly a vote of confidence in season 1. Interestingly, the show is made by CBS Studios, part of the Paramount group. Clearly there’s no hard feelings following the recent purchase of Warner Bros. We expect a trailer nearer launch, which we’ll bring when we see it.
