According to a description of the contents of the next Doctor Who Magazine, three actors will portray Doctor Who fans in what must be a some very meta scenes the second Season Two episode Lux.

The magazine will include a chat with Bronté Barbé, Samir Arrian and Steph Lacey who play Doctor Who fans Lizzie, Hassan and Robyn as they recorded scenes for the episode.

With Mrs Flood (Anita Dobson) breaking the fourth wall to talk to the Doctor Who audience, a cartoon character (Alan Cumming) emerging from a cinema screen and the Doctor (Nucti Gatwa) and Belinda (Varada Sethu) transformed into cartoon form, it seems anything is possible in the Whoniverse. It will be fun to see how these scenes play out.

DWM 616 will also feature Russell T Davies on writing Lux and the Framestore team will explain how they brought Lux villain 2D cartoon character Mr Ring-a-Ding to life.

Written by Russell T Davies and directed by Amanda Brotchie, the 43-minute Lux transmits on Saturday 19 April at 8am on BBC iPlayer and 7:15pm on BBC One in the UK. Those outside of the UK can stream Lux on Disney+ where available simultaneously starting at 3am ET/12am PT. The remaining six episodes of Doctor Who Season Two will transmit on subsequent Saturdays.

Directly after the BBC One broadcast, Steffan Powell goes behind the scenes of Lux in Doctor Who: Unleashed at 8:00pm on BBC Three and on the official Doctor Who YouTube channel where available.

Doctor Who Magazine 616 is on sale Thursday 24 April from Panini and WH Smith priced £7.99 (UK). Also available as a digital edition from Pocketmags priced £6.99.
