Rowan Atkinson in Man Vs Bee

Man Vs Baby – Rowan Atkinson returns to Netflix

The hero of Man Vs Bee returns to face an even more terrifying challenge… a baby!

While he’s known for a variety of roles here in the UK, including Blackadder, Maigret, and the Johnny English movies, Rowan Atkinson’s international fame surely comes from Mr Bean.

With peerless slapstick and comic timing, the mostly silent character translates effortlessly. He even scored a starring role in the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics.

In 2022, Rowan Atkinson brought that particular set of skills to Netflix for Man Vs Bee.

The show saw the hapless house sitter Trevor Bingley in an intractable battle with a Bee, causing untold damage in the process.

Now, Netflix have announced via social media that the unfortunate Trevor Bingley is about to endure another battle as Man Vs Baby is now in production with four 30-minute episodes.

The (rather minimal) premise reads:

“After a disastrous experience housesitting a high-tech mansion hampered by an inconvenient insect in Man Vs Bee, Trevor Bingley now finds himself looking after a luxurious London penthouse, with another unlikely companion he didn’t ask for…”

Man Vs Bee was created by Atkinson with Will Davies and the pair reteam on the sequel. David Kerr also returns to direct. Davies executive produces with Chris Clark and the show comes from HouseSitter Productions.
