Sean Bean and Nicola Walker to star in new Stefan Golaszewski drama, Marriage, for BBC One
Produced by The Forge (Help, Roadkill, National Treasure) and The Money Men, Marriage is a four-part drama for BBC One and BBC iPlayer and is an up-close portrait of a marriage — sometimes funny, sometimes moving, always revealing.
So far, the only cast news we have is Sean Bean (Time, Broken, Game Of Thrones) and Nicola Walker (Last Tango In Halifax, The Split, Unforgotten) who are the stars of writer and director Stefan Golaszewski’s (Mum, Him And Her) new drama. The synopsis is:
Marriage sees married couple Ian (Bean) and Emma (Walker) negotiate the ups and downs of their 30-year marriage. We see them dealing with the insecurities, the ambiguities, the hopes and the fears that are part of all marriages, as the drama explores the risks and the gifts of a long-term intimate relationship.
What we don’t know is why now, ie what’s the catalyst behind the story. Filming is due to begin shortly and we’ll keep an eye our for further casting information. At this stage we assume the series will arrive during 2022. You can read more, including comments from those involved, in the BBC announcement.
