Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey & Woody Harrelson reteam for Apple TV+

The comedy series will showcase the pair’s “strange and beautiful bond.”

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson share a personal friendship which is soon to be showcased in a comedy show on streamer Apple TV+.

The pair have a lengthy onscreen history together. On television, they headlined the first season of True Detective, for which they both scored Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

On the big screen, they’ve co-starred in films such as Welcome to Hollywood, EDtv and Surfer Dude.

Their new show comes from Schitt’s Creek’s David West Read. It sees the pair playing heightened versions of themselves and is described as “… a heartfelt odd couple love story revolving around the strange and beautiful bond between Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Matthew and Woody’s friendship is tested when their combined families attempt to live together on Matthew’s ranch in Texas.”

We’re imagining something akin to a cross between The Trip and Staged, on a ranch. With horses. It could be a lot of fun.

The show is a half-hour comedy, as yet unnamed, which will run for 10 episodes. Harrelson and McConaughey executive produce with David West Read. As dies David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television, with Bill Bost and Jeremy Plager.

We’ll keep you posted.
