Based on Legendary’s Monsterverse, the show comes to Apple TV+ this November.
Apple TV+ have revealed the first teaser for its television show set in the world of Legenday’s Monsterverse.
Building on the recent big screen exploits of Godzilla and Kong, the show promises a multi-generational saga set in both the 1950s and the present day.
Here’s the synopsis for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that levelled San Francisco, and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organisation known as Monarch.
Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga — spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.
As well as Kurt and Wyatt Russell, the show stars Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski.
The show’s co-creators and executive producers are Chris Black and Matt Fraction. Matt Shakman (WandaVision) directs the first two episodes and executive produces alongside Joby Harold & Tory Tunnell (Safehouse Pictures), Andy Goddard, Brad Van Arragorn and Andrew Colville. Plus, Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will executive produce for Toho Co., Godzilla’s owners.
A 10-part series, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters begins at Apple TV+ on November 17th, 2024, with a double premiere. Subsequent episodes land on Fridays.
