The BBC has confirmed that its new three-part drama, Mrs Wilson starring – uh – Ruth Wilson, will premiere on Tuesday November 27th.

The series is set between 1940s and 1960s London and follows Alison Wilson (played by Luther‘s Ruth Wilson) who thinks she is happily married until her husband (played by Game of Thrones’ Iain Glen) dies and a woman turns up on her doorstep claiming that she is the real Mrs. Wilson. Alison is determined to prove the validity of her own marriage – and Alec’s love for her – but is instead led into a world of disturbing secrets.

In a rather interesting twist, Ruth Wilson will be playing her own grandmother as the series written by Anna Symon is based on her grandmother’s memoir. Keeley Hawes, Anupam Kher and Fiona Shaw will co-star in the series, too.

The trailer for this intriguing series goes as follows…

Mark your calendars, then: the series will kick off at 9pm on BBC One one Tuesday November 27th.
