Cobra Kai season 3 is on Netflix from January 8 2021 and excitement rises with the release of a trailer
If you didn’t know, Cobra Kai is one of those shows that seemed to come from nowhere then everyone on social media seemed to have watched or be watching. The overall premise is simple:
30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi, and must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.
In other words it’s a follow up to the hugely successful Karate Kid movies. Cobra Kai season 3 promises to explore more background and bring back a few faces, including Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto) and Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita). It’s not clear to what extent any romance between Daniel and Kumiko will flourish, but the trailer promises plenty of action. It also wins our award for sneaking in some seasonal music in the form of Auld Lang’s Syne!
The trailer may be seen here, and it comes with a simple message: ‘… remember, Cobra Kai never dies.’
