Not Going Out, Lee Mack’s popular sitcom is set to broadcast its first live episode this Christmas, it’s been announced.

It’ll see Lee Mack’s Lee and Sally Bretton’s Lucy try and organise a festive variety show but find acts are rather hard to pin down. Hugh Dennis’ Toby and wife Anna (Abigail Cruttendon) will also be roped in with some raw egg juggling and knife throwing thrown in – all broadcast live to the nation.

The BBC have set an official date – December 21st – and regarding the broadcast, Mack said, “A live episode of a BBC One sitcom…what could possibly go wrong? Loads. Which, let’s be honest, is why you sadists will be watching.  So don’t miss out on seeing me end my career.”

Back in March Mack discussed doing a live show and he said, “When I  heard of other people doing live shows I thought why, “Would you bother doing that?” It’s for your own satisfaction. It doesn’t aid the quality. And then I thought, “Oh go on then, why not?” They showed me the money…”

We’ll have to wait and see how it all pans out on December 21st…
