An international story packed with emotion and talent is making waves as it’s been picked up by Netflix. Details about the brand new feature have been released, including a first look image (above) and details about what we can expect to see.

What’s On Behalf of My Son about?

The feature takes place in the packed city of Belo Horizonte in Brazil, following a mother who’s dealing with the fresh pain of losing her son. She struggles to cope with the burden of his death after a tragic bus accident, he wasn’t a passenger – he was the driver. As the investigation into the incident continues, details come to light suggesting that her son may have acted with suicidal intentions, adding even more for our protagonist to deal with. She sets out on a mission to find the families of the victims of the tragedy and apologise in an act of confronting her own grief.

Who’s in it?

The film stars international talent that’s worth keeping an eye on. The cast list includes Rejane Faria (Mars One), Maíra Azevedo (Unsuspicious), Renato Novaes (Long Way Home), Karine Telles (The Second Mother), Giovanna Heliodoro, Thalma de Freitas (Madam Beja) and Grace Passô (The Son of a Thousand Men).

When’s it out?

There’s no specific date confirmed, but the film is slated for a release later this year.
